On Friday, November 30, 2018 at 8:29 AM, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck 8 miles north of Anchorage. Significant damage to area buildings, roads and bridges snarled traffic and closed businesses. Thousands of residents and businesses from Anchorage to the Matanuska-Susitna Valley were out of power, water and other vital services. The Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, as well as other area utility companies immediately mustered all available resources to repair the damage and get the region back on its feet. PTS was able to participate by providing construction inspection services for emergency road and storm drain repairs along 3rd Avenue and down Dowling Road in mid-town Anchorage.
