ADA Improvements – Municipality of Anchorage, Project Management & Engineering

PTS provided construction management services to assist the Municipality of Anchorage, Project Management & Engineering Department in constructing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian routes in various locations throughout Anchorage.

The Municipality continues to improve pedestrian accessibility throughout the Anchorage area.  PTS is providing inspection services for the 2020 ADA  – Phase II, Green Acres Project located in 36th Avenue and Lake Otis Blvd area and construction administration for PM&E project 20-03 Klatt Rd / Southport Dr Area ADA Upgrades.  The projects will demolish and reconstruct 48 pedestrian curb ramps based on ADA guidelines.  For this project, the slopes and lengths of each ramp were carefully measured to ensure ADA compliance, to minimize impacts to existing improvements and to maximize constructability.  PTS, MOA PM&E, and the Contractors closely collaborated to ensure guidelines would be met.  These projects were started in the fall of 2020 and will be completed in the spring of 2021.
