Civil Construction Inspector

Professional & Technical Services, Inc. (PTS) is currently seeking Civil Construction Inspectors for road, utility, drainage system, storm water compliance, site development, and other similar projects. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience with civil construction and/or inspection including street, storm drain, water, sewer, SWPPP compliance, grading and drainage, materials testing, and quality control

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of erosion and sediment controls and skills to assess conditions on a construction site that could impact water quality

  • Familiarity with Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) storm water compliance program

  • Familiarity with Alaska Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (APDES) Construction General Permit (CGP)

  • Familiarity with ADOT&PF Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, Municipality of Anchorage Standard Specifications (MASS), and/or comparable documents

  • Ability to perform physical activities for extended durations on construction sites

  • Ability to work 40-70+ hours per week including night work and work outside of Anchorage

  • Current Alaska Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead (AK-CESCL) certification or current Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) certification is valued

  • Valid Alaska driver’s license

Inspectors will be stationed in the field daily, including weekends, primarily April-October. Responsibilities may include project construction inspection, managing SWPPP compliance for Municipal and State agencies, preparing daily inspection reports, maintaining project documents, coordinating materials testing, quantity tracking, and communicating with contractors and the public.  Individuals must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, and demonstrate a clear understanding of the specifications and details of a given project.

PTS is an Anchorage based civil engineering, surveying and project management firm that performs services for road, utility, residential, and commercial development projects throughout Alaska. PTS will consider both full time and seasonal applicants.  We offer a competitive compensation package and great working environment.  Pay for seasonal and remote work may be compensated at a higher rate.
